Hester: We don't have clarity on some of these things. But to the point of maximizing jurisdiction, I wonder if the argument has made internally whether the SEC actually wants this jurisdiction or not. Hester: What the SEC should be regulating is capital raising. And we're at something else that really doesn't belong with us.

Hester Peirce is one of five SEC Commissioners. She's been a Commissioner since 2018, with her term ending in 2025.
