Nostalgia and Its Value in a Specific Way
Politicians and corporations are doing everything they can to tap into that nostalgia. They want to keep people in somewhat of a low-level nostalgic state or in a state of agitation or anger, so they're constantly scrolling on Twitter. So there has been a change from disciplining it out of people to almost encouraging it in a specific way. It then therefore defines nostalgia's value as something that sort of re-inscribes people as consuming, scrolling, technocratic subjects.
