In boy scouts, we would sometimes walk for miles and miles to the center where there was a pay phone. And without actually speaking to a person, I didn't hear some kind of sultry interlude for a prerecorded lady. Back then they were big money makers too, because you got charged by the minute. There are still a lot of people who do this as a part or full time job. That does that can count as sex work; it's real work.
