When photographing artwork on an easel using a DSLR or mirrorless, match the angle that the painting is leaning back with your camera angle. The other thing you want to consider though is light. If you're just again using an iPhone or you want very basic settings for your DSLR or Mirrorless, the best light to use when you're capturing artwork is garage lighting.
