Dumbledore's Curse to Hogwarts
Tom Riddle wanted to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts. Since Dumbledore rejected him, no teacher has since been there longer than a year. Do you think that was intentional? I mean, it seems as though it would be a bad decision considering that the one class that Harry has got to learn is the one that Dumbledore chooses Harry's most hateful teacher for. Snape probably made an unbreakable vow with Dumbledore because Dumbledore has put so much trust in the Snape and he trusts him completely. He doesn't really care that Harry's in the same class with Snape because Dumbledore's been giving him his own lessons.
