It has taken me a very long time to get to a level of decent proficiency. I absolutely love being in the classroom. What could be more optimistic than that? To spend your life with teenagers who are funny and thereby definition optimistic, because they're at the beginning of their lives. The sustainability thing came from my daughter who was teaching in a frankly unsustainable way. She said to me, mama, this job is on you. You've got to do it in a way that doesn't kill yourself and show the others how to do it.
