Is Safe Haven an Alternative to Abortion?
Heather Berners is executive director of the National Safe Haven Alliance. The hotline she runs takes calls from often desperate pregnant women right across the US. In June we had a 300 increase in calls. We are able to offer more options than just where to drop your baby off. Most of the time the child the baby is not the crisis. Their life their situation is the crisis. Do they need resources, addiction services? Do they need just someone to support them? These women are in situations where some things just tip them over the edge often.
