What Is Grossman's Original Notebooks?
Grossman was Ukrainian, wasn't he? Well, yes indeed, a birdie chef. It's a question of if you like how you identify yourself. He identified himself as Russian, not just Ukrainian necessarily. And then suddenly having never really seen himself as Jewish, realized as a result of the thorough anti-Semitism, which especially came out in 1945. Grossman then very much more identified himself as Jewish.
