The Battle of Dijon

Around 60,000 men were assembled at dijon. Napoleon always made a point of subverting people's expectations and keeping his opponents guessing. He didn't know that the austrians were planning a surprise of their own. They expected the main french thrust to come from germany, but they planned to merely contain this attack. Their own main counter offensive would come in the south, through italy. With both sides pouring their strength into italy, it became increasingly likely that the coming campaign would decide the war.
