If your appetite for money is insatiable, it's eventually going to catch up with you. Bernie Madoff is a great example of someone who was very successful in his career before the fraud. Having some idea of enough money does not mean that you have no aspirations for more. The concept of enough just means that you pay attention to the idea if your expectations are growing just as much or faster than your income.
