Most asteroids live in the asteroid belt. It's a very appropriately named part of our solar system between Mars and Jupiter. Because all of these asteroids are so spaced out, it's easier to miss an asteroid than it is to land on one. How have we ever sent something past Mars? Great question. You're getting lots of little claps. The average space between them is about a hundred thousand miles. We've sent spacecraft beyond Mars beyond Jupiter. They've gone beyond Pluto. But they didn't even touch any tiny little rocks. With Voyager one and two passed through the asteroid belt and had no problems. And I'll just tell you that I was going to like ask you to guess
