The Mystery of Borders

Borders offer you a great chance to complicate a mystery, and you do a great job of that. I'm very, I mean, that's the thing about borders is this kind of, this absurdity, which is true. There are all these kind of border resonances are really absolutely true. And so just as, I hope, just as the reader is beginning to come to terms with one, hopefully sort of almost recognizable but still quite a strange city, you then cross a border and go into another one. So hopefully that sort of wrong foots people all over again.
