The Implications of Working in the Creative Industries
The empirical work for this book was mostly undertaken in Greater Manchester. The first sector is looking at textiles and garment working, but with a focus on modest fashion. Then something that people might be able to do at home, but for the majority of artists, not going to have the same success as the YBA's. And then the third area is digital media. This sort of micro social media blogging sites in order to build a platform and influence. Again, this is something that can be done domestically, but it also means there's not a clear divide between work and home. So impotations around that are around pay and also protection of rights.
