The Animal With No Arms or Legs That Can Drive a Car

Research's Sashir Givan is in Israel at the Ben-Grain University where he taught a goldfish how to drive. He put a fish on a robotic platform and taught it to navigate to a target. Fish don't drive cars, so we had to train them to understand what we want them to do. The fish had to get accustomed to a visual target that is placed in an arena which it sees through the walls of the water tank. Every time it gets to the target, we award it with a food pellet.
