The Different Types of Gender in Languages

About 50% of languages have no gender at all. Of those that do about half simply have a two animate versus inanimate system. Only a quarter of the world's languages is where all this delicious complexity of three gender to 12 gender however many systems you want are divided into just those just that quarter percent that quarter of the languages of the planet that have more elaborated systems.
