The Ethics of Short Selling
Short sellers also live and die by their credibility. So if they put out reports that are not credible over time, they will lose their impact. I think we've seen some kind of copycat activist shorts. Short selling is really important but the information has to be right. If you're manipulating something on the short side, that's wrong. But if you're manipulating it on theshort side, on the long side, that’s wrong too. It doesn't go hand in hand. There's manipulation, market manipulation of a stock up or down... And there's activism, long and short.
