Hoover and Stimson put Smedley under house arrest. A huge public brew-ha-ha ensued. It was all over the papers, and it seemed like most of America took Smedley's side. Hoover and I had a history. He was in China during the Boxer Rebellion and immediately proved himself to be a chicken shit coward. So. Yeah, I guess coward's the right word, but I'm still alive.
