The Role of Needles in Textiles

There's just so much that can be done with fabric or with a piece of string. I think there's definitely a mental health component that some people get out of needlework. The artist in this book and people doing needlework around the world right now do it for so many reasons. And then if you think about things like quilts or apieras or things like that, they've been used for kind of, you know, to make a political statement about various topics. So yeah, needlework can be all things, including practical things, including all things.
