The town of cape francois, or later called cape france, was founded on the northern end of hispaniola in 16 70. And this town ends up later becoming really the big, major french town in the west indies much like kingston was for the english. After about 17 hundred, this sort of first age of piracy that was so common in the caribbean ends. The various maritime powers start to try to suppress thi pirate colony. So i've been mentioning all along the way here another significant player in the picture, which is the dutch.
