Home Ownership - The Solution to the Wealth Gap

Home ownership is seen as away to include african americans into, again, this notion of American largess. It's missing a fundamental understanding of the way that this emphasis on private property and ownership perpetuates the problem in a different way. And so if you want to keep your private property thing intact, then you have to build a social welfare state where one's life does not hinge on ownership of the asset. If we had access to those things, if those needs were satisfied elsewhere, if they were satisfied through the state, i would lessen dramatically.
