Is Religion a Religion?
I believe there is this innate desire to provide some sort of transcendent meaning. I'm much more inclined to take people seriously who know what their biases and their priors are than people who just think that they are being objective and empirical. But so I look I agree with you it can be overdone at the same time. It's not wrong. It's just that religion isn't of a piece. And so you're entirely right about a couple of things.
