The Myth of the Cowboy
The cowboy is a figure who conquers his environment but also at the same time becomes partly wild himself. The mythologization of the cowboy begins with this self-mythologization it then continues by being canonized. It goes through a canonization mainly by easterners including scholars in statesman like teddy rosavelt and artists such as fredrick remington which created an american baroque for the west.
