Edward Jenner was just a country doctor and he saw that if the people the the women who were milking the cows if they got cowpox that they wouldn't get smallpox. So he basically started experimenting on the people around him giving them cowpox and then purposefully trying to infect them with smallpox. He found that um then they would not get smallpox yeah so that was a way that they were spreading that vaccine around England. The Chinese had been doing that for a while as well like there are accounts of inhaling dried particles of smallpox in China.
