How to Compose a Jazz Standard and Improvisation?

Lernjaz's philosophy is to focus on chord tones over and above everything else, as far as theory. The only way you can learn how to creatively resolve to cortones is by knowing them so well,. So that's jas improvisation. And i always like to think, start your improvisations by to figure out, or start practising improvisation with cord tones. Licks, lurk, licks. Or find two shorter pieces of information, like over a cord progression. But also composing. Composing gives you the opportunity to critically think about what you're actually playing.
