The Doctrine of Eternal Torment Is Not a Doctrine of Annihilationists

Jason: The doctrine of eternal torment is sometimes misunderstood as teaching that the souls of the unsaved go to hell when they die. Jason: Traditionalists agree with us annihilationists that the unsaved will one day be bodily resurrected. And historically, such traditionalists have said that resurrected bodies of the lost will be made immortal so that they can live physically forever in a punitive torment, body and soul. In blatant contradiction to this biblical teaching, the doctrines of eternal torment says, the resurrected lost will be make immortal too.
