Bobbie and his girlfriend had struggled with substance use disorder, but we'd hoped that this would perhaps be a motivation to them. There was a lot of mixed emotions about it. The more time Liz spent building her own life away from the toxic environment, the more she could see it for what it was. When I started having children, I was able to advocate more easily...I definitely didn't want Bob anywhere near my children.
