Steve Jobs and the iPod
Apple co-founder Steve Jobs returned to the company he co-founded back in 1976. In 1998 Apple had sold 800,000 iMacs one every 15 seconds The year before Steve came back to Apple the company had lost a billion dollars Thanks to the iMac Apple returned to profitability But after the success of the translucent iMac Steve Jobs immediately looked for a new world to conquer Portable digital music players were growing in popularity but they were large clunky and worst of all ugly. He decided to remedy that with the first iPod which went on sale in October 2001. By 2003 the company was selling a million of them every year by 2005 that number had reached over 25 million.
