How Do You Write a Novel?
When did you feel like you first figured it out? I speak to a lot of writers who have written two, three, four books. My third novel, I finished a rough draft that kind of resembled what a book should look like. Since then, my rough drafts have gotten pretty solid. But when I get through a book now, it's usually in pretty decent shape.
