In the gulag principles of the criminal law of the russian soviet federated socialist republic of 19 teen, the very concept of punishment was subjected to a new definition. The workers in peasant state was not taking vengeance on an offender, nor expiation of guilt. Adand that is this idea of curing. Here, they cured the patients by murdering them. And i'm going to read out at greater length how this philosophy worked, because my jaw dropped when when i read this. It was still relatively early in the history of soviet russia here.
