Do We Still Have Originals From the Roman Period?
Most of them are written on scrolls, and they are often made of papyrus or some kind of early form of paper. The main place that papyrus survives is something like egypt, which is very dry. Did it work out too one scroll equals one book? No, not necessarily at all,. In the case of lots of books, thet'll be across a few scrolls. And it is a very unwieldy way of preserving texts. At some point in the late first century, start to see what is something akin to the modern book, i guess the modern book is changing in itself these days.
