The Impact of the Rebalance on the Prices of High-Flying Tech Companies in the Index
Only about 20 to 30% of mutual funds are beating their benchmarks. Most fund managers in an attempt to run a diversified portfolio do not have an index weight in these largest positions. If the large positions really outperform as they have this year, then it basically destins most of the mutual funds to lag their benchmark.
