The Misunderstanding of the Darwinist View of Survival of the Fittest

When nature evolves a Finch, it's essentially trying to approximate some pre-existing idealized essence of Finchness. And so, I think, you know, the reason I think of Darwin is just because this thing about survival of the fittest kind of comes to dominate. The way I understand and tell me if this agrees with what you're saying, but the mistake of the sort of social Darwinist view of survival of fittest is that like, as you say, it's like a justification as opposed to survival and fitness being like, reciprocally defining mutually defining or something like that.
