Alexander was a reciter. He used to give one man recitations in an environment where there were quite large halls or auditoriums, but of course, there were no p a systems. After maybe a half our of his recital, hehis gasping for breathh. His voice became hoarse. And after exploring every possible way of improving that situation, he went to vocal coaches and doctors. But nothing really worked. So he set about a ring and examining himself, which no one had ever really suggested he do before. Over a period of several years, he discovered what he was doing that was causing the problem. The work has continued and expanded quite a bit since then too
