The Problem With Market Research Is That People Don't Think What They Feel

In your book, you talk about how we have a culture that prizes measuring things over understanding people. So one of the most powerful things i see for companies as well marketers is are those companies that have the deepest understanding of their other customers. In such a world where market research work perfectly, you could argue that a control economy, rather than comperitive economy, might deliver more goods more efficiently. Unfortunately, to a great extent, we only really know what we want when we've been presented with it and experienced it. And so it's only through competitive capitalism that you can find out what the amigdla wants in terms of observing their behaviour.
