The Politics of Inflation

An inflation tax would have a tax base up only currency because bank reserves are paid interest under current law. Another possibility is that the government decides to go back to requiring banks to hold reserves, which we don't currently do. And if we went back to the policy of not paying any interest on cash, we could get the inflation rate to be much lower. If you were a politician, I dare say, now this is a political opinion or an opinion of mine about American political economy.
