Amonson had led the first team to navigate the northwest passage. He then became the first man to reach the south pole. But he couldn't settle for a quiet, comfortable retirement. His debts were mounting still further and he declared himself bankrupt. A young adventurer named lincoln ellsworth put up the money to keep him flying. Together they flew towards the north pole in an airship with the italian aviator umberto nobele. The rest of the world gave them up for dead. Three weeks later, they flew back to civilization. Aminson was back from the dead.
