The recession in 2008, combining to be a perfect storm also with the Internet. We were searching for meaning because we're sort of like grasping at straws and I think something that we're seeing that's similar is around the time of 2008 wealth as like end sort of like booginess and performative wealth. People were just like desperately trying to hold on to anything that could sort of like throw off the impending financial that would hopefully help us not be impacted by it. The wellness world is spraying up this sort of like earth mama, no bra wearing, but still like living in a gorgeous place in Venice.
