"I used to be pretty good at afterpay. I used it for such a long time," he says. "It just becomes a way that you function, right? It can be really hard to move away from if you become dependent on it." After paying off his car loan and getting into better financial shape in the last few months, David has stopped using after pay. He's now able to put himself in a position where there is no need to buy anything over the next month or so because he doesn't have any debt.
