House Republicans passed a budget framework that includes massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP benefits, plus huge tax breaks for the wealthy. Trump is literally going to war with the poor. It’s not hyperbole to say that millions of American lives are at risk.
Meanwhile, big shakeups at MSNBC mean there is even less representation in cable news these days. We grieve the loss of Joy Reid’s show, The ReidOut, and ask: would boycotting cable news be more harmful or helpful?
Should Democrats show up to Trump’s State of the Union address? With Trump dismantling our democracy and the GOP pushing for devastating cuts to the social safety net, attending this yearly ceremony may just be a bad look.
