When these new people started joining the temple, starting in 19 68, they transformed it. They had come upon a new way of living, a better way. This was the only place that they had ever found it. And you can't put a price teg on that. That's why they held to the end. Because no matter how bad it got, they were still holding out that they could find that joy and ecstasy. To feel free of those, if only in passing it, can be a profound and intoxicating experience. It changes people.
