Right wing conspiracy theorists have been focusing on the idea of havana sindrum. The theory is that Americans living in a hostile country are being hit by shooting beams from their government and it's giving them this strange syndrome. But, as with so many rightwing conspiracy theories, there isn't any evidence to back up these claims.
