I was wondering if you could shed some light on the counter-transference responses that an analyst feels and what is the kind of fragility that patients who don't have a psychic skin can. It's come a long way from the time they wrote about thin skin and thick skin narcissism, I thought. Sometimes we can feel maternal, we can feel the need to envelop such patients, we can lend them our own skin again, unconsciously, so that they can wrap themselves in our skin.
