The Boy Scouts' Obsession With Native Americans

The idea was if you want to signify to the campers as they arrive on the first day of camp that they're actually entering a foreign new world then you use the most readily available foreign signifiers which in the history of the United States are indigenous peoples. It's just this idea of like romanticizing natives and of course that happened after America had already like murdered most of its natives. You have to last to the Mohicans population.
