Introduction
A History of Vong Music and 500 Songs. Episode 162 Daydream Believer By the Monkeys. The Monkeys were originally cast as actors in a TV show. They consisted of former child stars Davy Jones and Mickey Dolan's. Michael Nesmith and Peter Torque, two competent musicians, wanted more creative input. In January 1967 things came to a head with producer Don Kirschner angrily opposed to group members having any input at all into how the records were made.
