Gerson: This is the first time Bilbo faces danger, faces a terrible, scary problem all by himself. He doesn't just sit in the dark and cry and hope somebody rescues him, right? So he keeps moving forward even though he's scared,. Even though he's miserable, he keeps going forward. In future chapters I'll bring up a few of the words from each chapter to discuss some vocab as well.
