Women in Comics in the Sixties
The people in charge of giving the final call were themselves women, and probably probably saw a lot of condescending portrayals of women that were objectionable under the code. And what's really interesting about that is that it starts because of their role and how women were portrayed in comics from the fifties until the late eighties. So we see, what we're seen here, in a lot of ways, is art as a reflection of society and social efforts to idealize this reflection. We've all been watching daredevil latelya who else? Lois lane had been around long before, sure, but certainly started to fit that role more during that period of time.
