Is There a Difference in Psychology in Latin America?
Psychology is mostly something of the upper middle and upper classes in south america, especially further south. Psychoanalytic tradition has been a kind of status symbol for people who have done psychoanalysis. In guatemala about 50 to 60 % indigenous, primarily mayan. And that can get replicated as well in other parts of latin America with large african populations or latino populations. The ways in which the cultures are different aren't always things that i find necessarily admirable, but they are there.
