Carnegie had to be talked out of putting his name on the philanthropy that he helped build in boston, with franklin's money. When i was reading his papers at the library of congress, i was soa biographies are always like franklins. It's like the shelves behind me. They're enormous. There's so much written about him. But one speech i never saw in books is a speech that car Carnegie gave at a centennial celebration for the anniversary of franklin's death in philadelphia.
