The Supporting of the Tribe of Levi

Tribe of Levi doesn't have an inheritance. They rely upon the fact that the other tribes of Israel are going to be worshiping the God of Israel and therefore supplying them with their needs. In Deuteronomy, there are these things called cities of refuge. If someone murders another person by God's justice, they have to die. This is a very unusual kind of warfare. It strikes us as being so, so backwards... Not just backwards, but violent and over, not justice anymore, right?
