Generally Speaking, I'm Not Comfortable Speaking English
These days, any one younger than about 50, from anywhere in the world speaks a little bit of english. I pride myself on making those people feel comfortable making an attempt to make themselves understood. Even within a band, if let's say there's four people involved in the session, one of them might be better at english than the rest and he's generally tapped to be the translator for the group. In same way that there are conventions within the the culture of rock bands or jaz musicians or whatever in the us, there there are also these conventions or, you know, where every french guitar player will have the same fuzz pedal, for example.
